Case of Eutectoid Transformations

These transformations occur entirely between solid phases but present lots of analogies with eutectic transformations. A very important example is that of pearlitic eutectoid transformation in the \(\ce{Fe-C}\) phase diagram. This transformation is described by:

\(\gamma \left( {0,77}{ \%} \ce{C} \right) \Leftrightarrow \lbrace \ce{Fe3C} + \alpha \left( {0,02}{ \%} \ce{C} \right) \rbrace \mathrm{perlite} \)
